The December meeting started with the AGM of the Ulster Chapter. In the absence of Chairman Jim Johnston, Vice Chairman Alfie Conn took our meeting. The Hon Sec Peter Lyons gave his report, incorporating the report from Jim Johnston. The financial state of the Chapter was reported by Harry McClintock our Hon Treasurer. All reports confirmed that the Ulster Chapter is going strong.

The New Committee was elected with Jim Johnston stepping down from the commitee. Eugene Grimley was voted onto the committee. The rest of the committee was re-elected en bloc.

At the end of the proceeedings the Roy McKay Trophy, given for services to the Ulster Chapter, was presented to Jim Johnston. Peter Lyons accepted the Trophy from Roy Cochrane on Jim's behalf. Jim was one of the founder members of the IWG Ulster Chapter and is a very deserving recipient of this trophy.

Demonstration

Eugen Grimley was our demonstrator for this short demonstration day. Eugene showed us how to make a small apple box using a wooden homemade chuck for holding and hollowing the lid. Followed by a little figurine using only a skew chisel

Our Competition was an open one. We had a good entry for this in both classes. Liam Gilmore's large laminated vessel deserves special mention, it was superb.  Competition pictures.
